Behind the Wheel – Life at U.S. Sedan: Adel Adam, Director of Operations
July 2, 2025
In the world of luxury transportation, it’s the people behind the wheel who define the experience. In the first edition of our new Behind the Wheel series, we sit down with Adel Adam, U.S. Sedan’s Director of Operations, to get a glimpse into the day-to-day life of a professional chauffeur. From early morning vehicle inspections to navigating VIP motorcades, Adel shares what it takes to deliver world-class service with precision, polish, and discretion.
Can you walk us through a typical day in your life as a chauffeur?
I usually get up early and dress in professional attire, typically a suit. I inspect and clean my vehicle, inform my dispatch that I’m on my way for my first trip, and drive to the client’s pick-up point—whether it’s their house, the airport, an office, or a hotel. I greet the client professionally, open doors, handle their luggage, navigate through traffic, and drop them off at the assigned destination. Before departing, I wish them a great day and ask if there’s anything else I can assist with.
What’s the most memorable ride you’ve ever given (no names, of course!)?
Driving a high dignitary in a motorcade.
How do you prepare for a high-profile or VIP client?
Check the route and scheduled stops, deep clean the vehicle, ensure the fuel tank is full, and test the A/C, heating, and entertainment systems. Refresh the water bottles and phone chargers, confirm and prepare for any client preferences, maintain discretion, and anticipate their needs. Avoid asking personal questions, drive smoothly with no harsh stops or turns, and always arrive on time.
What are some small touches you think make a ride feel truly ‘luxury’?
Arrive before the scheduled pick-up time, anticipate the client's needs, maintain professional behavior, and ensure the vehicle is clean. Provide an estimated time of arrival for the trip, assist with luggage, be friendly and knowledgeable about the city, and be ready to recommend restaurants and tourist sites.
What vehicle in the fleet is your personal favourite to drive and why?
I like all the vehicles in our fleet, as they are brand new and luxurious, but the S-Class Benz is my favorite.
What does “professionalism” mean to you behind the wheel?
Safety comes first, followed by punctuality, discretion, and confidentiality. A polished appearance, strong communication skills, a well-maintained vehicle—inside and out—thorough route planning, and a positive attitude are all essential.
